Estimator: up to £25000 dependent upon experience
Main purpose/function of job:
Responsible for executing high-quality accurate detailed cost estimates in the Estimating department. Understanding the clients’ needs and meeting their expectations.
Main Duties (including supervisory and task responsibilities)
Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates from engineering drawings.
Accurately estimate work times using industry knowledge.
Produce carefully written proposals.
Continuously work to improve the accuracy of work time estimates.
Respond to general customer enquiries.
Provide excellent level of customer service to all clients.
General administration support to other departments.
Any other duties commensurate with the post.
Personal Qualities, Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements
Significant experience in an estimating role, in an industrial manufacturing (sheet metal / fabrication) environment.
Be able to prepare and issue RFQ packages and analyse returned quotations from a commercial and technical viewpoint.
Good contractual acumen and experienced in the production of fixed price, target cost and reimbursable estimates
Organised, resilient, energetic, proactive, and results driven.
Good arithmetic & computer skills – Outlook, Excel, TTF
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Clear communicator with good influencing and motivational skills
At least 2 – 3 years’ experience in busy engineering technical department
