Business Development Manager
To develop new large account business.
Main Duties:
- Build new business relationships in line with the business sales strategy, achieve sales and margin targets, successfully develop new business with new clients
- Develop the large account sales plan including reports to the board of directors to meet annual sales forecasts
- Actively and successfully manage, the generation of leads, sales solution pitch, tender generation, negotiation and close
- In liaison with other members of the management team ensure the sales strategy remains relevant and make adjustments where necessary
- Plan and prepare account-based plans and detailed account planning in the CRM system
- Ensuring Quotes/Tenders are submitted on time and to the very highest standard
- Input to the development of the marketing support to promote account-based marketing to target new accounts
- Attend industry functions, conferences, exhibitions, etc as required and provide feedback on relevant market activities
- To work in a safe and efficient manner providing support to your colleagues
- Always wear the correct PPE.
Successful Candidate Skills & Experience:
- A proven ability to work on your own initiative in finding and pursuing customer leads
- Business Development, not just Sales
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Negotiation with an eye on profitability and not just revenue, controlling RFI and Tenders
- Customer relationship management with strong communication and negotiating skills and the ability to influence across organisations (internal and external)
- An ability to solve problems with experience and a proven track record in decision making
- An ability to communicate clearly and succinctly to customers and management
- Have shown you are an experienced team member who can operate in a highly dynamic business environment as part of a growing and diversifying enterprise
- Have proven technical understanding of Mechanical Engineering, preferably (Laser Cutting, Fabrication and Finishing)
- Strong Desktop IT skills
- Experience in Construction, Engineering, Transport (Rail/Automotive).
