Senior Estimator - £28,000 - £30,000
Main purpose/function of job:
Manage, coach and develop a high performing cost estimating team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
Responsible for executing high-quality accurate detailed cost estimates in the Estimating department. Understanding the clients’ needs and meeting their expectations.
Main Duties (including supervisory and task responsibilities):
Supervising Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
Allocation and monitoring of workload to ensure timely response to customers.
Provide feedback to Directors on departmental KPI’s and ensure that internal targets are met.
Act as first port of call for customer enquiries relating to quotations.
Liaise with other department heads regarding lead times and any potential issues.
Identify and resolve any potential issues with quotes early on.
Ensure open and effective communication with other departments.
Including passing on relevant information to Estimators.
Liaise regularly with Sales/Marketing teams to ensure customer information and data is kept up to date.
Ensure Estimators clarify and document requirements with customers.
Ensure all staff are appropriately trained and work with individuals to improve their day-to-day performance.
Support Estimators with their personal development and long term goals through informal feedback and formal appraisals. Estimator Accurately and efficiently compile customer quotes.
Communicate with customer regarding any specific requirements and ensure that any communication with the customer is documented. Sources external prices from suppliers where necessary.
Respond to any potential customer enquiries. Support Sales/Marketing team by communicating with customers when directed to do so.
